Youth & Families - Hakom Teen Programs
Teen Program (Grades 7–12)
HaMakom (“The Place”) is more than just Hebrew High—it’s where Jewish teens come to be themselves, connect with their peers, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders.
Meets Mondays from 6:15–8:15pm – includes dinner!
Our program is designed to meet teens where they are: curious, passionate, busy, and searching. Each Monday night begins with music, community-building, and a shared ritual moment. Then, students split into grade-level tracks or electives based on their passions and needs.
Program Highlights:
- 7th Grade: Dive into Holocaust education and Jewish moral courage through stories, media, and hands-on activities that build empathy and ethical awareness.
- 8th–9th Grade: Choose your adventure! Go experiential with pop culture, food, and Jewish values—or opt for deep discussion around text, spirituality, and identity.
- 10th Grade: A meaningful year of Confirmation study with Rabbi David, exploring what it means to own your Jewish voice. Includes the RAC L’Taken Social Justice Seminar in Washington, D.C., an unforgettable trip with Rabbi David and Stessa that empowers teens to turn Jewish values into action on Capitol Hill.
- 11th–12th Grade: Two dynamic tracks—real-world Jewish living (college, careers, leadership) and creative Jewish expression (music, food, ritual design, and more).
Teen Leadership Studio: For 8th–12th graders ready to lead: plan programs, support youth groups, assist in classrooms, and build a resume-worthy leadership portfolio.
HaMakom is a space of belonging, exploration, and inspiration. Whether you’re prepping for college, exploring your values, or just want a place to be your Jewish self, you belong here
